About us:-

Rochdale Society of Model & E xperimental Engineers (RSMEE), founded in 1932, is one of the oldest societies in the country and is also a founder member of the Northern Association of Model Engineers.

The Rochdale Society of Model and Experimental Engineers became registered as a Charity Incorporated Organisation on 10^th December 2018, registration number 1181083.

It is based at Springfield Park, (A58) Bolton Road, Rochdale, OL11 4RE.

The track will accommodate 31/2, 5 and 7 1/4 inch gauge model locomotives - live steam, battery electric and 5etrol locomotives. It is open for running every Sunday afternoon (weather permitting), between April and October for visiting drivers, passengers and onlookers to enjoy.

Members come from many different walks of life and are of varying levels of skill and experience - and all are still learning! Their interests include:

Twice-monthly meetings covering a variety of subjects are also held on Friday Evenings throughout the year. Castleton Library and Community Centre is the venue for the meetings, (Manchester Road, Castleton, Rochdale, OL11 3AF), commencing at 7.0pm until 8.45pm. Please see "Programme Link" for details.

Visiting owners/drivers are always welcome to join us on running days. Please read our Track Rules Document and remember your valid boiler certificate if intending to run a steam locomotive.

NEW MEMBERS are always welcome to our meetings and track days, so please come along and try a new hobby. Give it a try and you could well become an RSMEE member.
